Advance Physical Therapy is dedicated to the gentle progression of patients with orthopaedic injuries, surgery, or chronic conditions through the rehabilitation process, and back to their fullest physical potential.

We design comprehensive orthopaedic, spinal, and sports rehabilitation programs tailored to each patient’s diagnosis, needs, abilities, and goals. A highly qualified and experienced physical therapist evaluates each new patient and develops and individualized treatment plan. Furthermore, each patient receives a detailed explanation of the nature of their injury and the plan of treatment.

Our entire staff takes pride in its ability to encourage and motivate patients. In fact, one of our most important goals is to give each and every patient a feeling of SELF-EMPOWERMENT, so that they become the masters of their own rehabilitation destiny.

Background and Qualifications

• Undergraduate Degree: California Lutheran University, BA 1970. Postgraduate Studies: California State University Long Beach, 1970-1973. Certificate in Physical Therapy: California State University Long Beach, 1973.
• Trained under and worked with noted Orthopaedic Surgeons.
• Leon Wiltse, M.D., Spine Specialty, Long Beach, CA 1975-1980.
• Douglas Jackson, M.D., Knee, Shoulder, Sports Medicine Specialties, Long Beach, CA 1975-1980.
• Co-produced: “Rehabilitation of Anterior Instability of the Knee” with Dr. Jackson, Presented at the American Orthopaedic Society Meeting in Anaheim, CA. 1981
• Authored the first paper by a physical therapist relating to Anterior Cruciate injuries and post-surgical care in the Journal of Orthopaedic and Sports Physical Therapy, entitled: “Rehabilitation of Anterior Knee Instability”, Fall, 1983.
• James Esch, M.D., Knee, Shoulder, Sports Medicine Specialties, Oceanside, CA. 1981-1985.
• Physical Therapist at the 1984 Summer Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
• Co-founded and set up the Athletic Training facilities for high schools in Orange County, CA., 1976.
• Set up off season training and rehabilitation programs for athletes on the California Angels, Los Angeles Rams, and Los Angeles Lakers professional sports teams 1974-1978.
• Specialization in Orthopaedic Physical Therapy. Awarded by The American Physical Therapy Association Board of Clinical Specialties, 1994. Designated, O.C.S
• One of the very few therapists in Idaho certified by the internationally respected, McKenzie Institute, USA, for the rehabilitation of spinal injuries. Designated, Cert. MDT.
• Advanced Physical Therapy was established in 1999.


Specialized Physical Therapy Services

Our many years of clinical experience, on-going up to date professional continuing education, and passion for excellence is manifested in the advanced physical therapy techniques and equipment that we offer.

Manual Therapy - Hands on gentle mobilization techniques for restoring range of motion in joints. Functional strengthening and flexibility programs for easier pain-free mobility.

Therapeutic Exercise and Conditioning - Specialized and closely supervised use of equipment for advancing patients toward their goals of increased, strength, endurance, power, proprioception, and functional capacity.

Therapeutic Modalities - For relief of acute pain and inflammation.

Specialized Back Care and Postural Instruction - To educate and empower patients with spinal problems on the importance of proper body mechanics and posture in reducing symptoms.

Work Conditioning and Rehabilitation - Strengthening, conditioning, and injury prevention strategies especially for injured workers.

Specialized Shoulder Extremity Rehabilitation - We have advanced training in rehabilitation of surgical and non-surgical shoulder problems.

Home Programs - To re-inforce the clinic program, and to empower patients to maintain the functional levels gained in therapy.


Assistance with Insurance Billing
Dealing with insurance companies can be confusing and time consuming. Our experienced office staff will help with verifications, authorizations, and billing. We are MEDICARE/MEDICAID certified, and we do accept TRI-CARE. We are also contracted with most insurance companies, and accept BLUE CROSS and BLUE SHIELD. We are part of the IPN (IDAHO PHYSICIANS NETWORK).

We accept most major medical insurance, WORKERS COMPENSATION, and automobile (med-pay) insurance plans, MasterCard and Visa.
